1. Who we are

aus.directory ("we", "us") publishes an independent directory of popular Australian websites at https://aus.directory/. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What we collect — and what we don't

Browsing this site requires no account and sets no cookies. We run no analytics, no trackers and no advertising. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to send through the suggestion form:

  • Your email address (required, so we can follow up);
  • Your name (optional);
  • Whatever you write in the suggestion itself.

3. How form submissions travel

The suggestion form is delivered by FormSubmit, a third-party relay, to our review inbox. Your submission passes through FormSubmit's infrastructure in transit; we don't control their systems and recommend not including sensitive personal information in a suggestion — a URL and a reason is all we need.

4. How we use it

Submissions are used solely to review directory entries — adding sites, fixing errors, weighing rankings. We may reply to your email about your submission. We do not add you to mailing lists, and we never sell or share your details with third parties (including listed sites).

5. The sites we link to

The directory links to external websites. Each has its own privacy practices — our comparison tables note where accounts are needed, but once you leave aus.directory, the destination site's privacy policy applies, not this one.

6. Retention & deletion

Suggestion emails are kept while they're useful for directory upkeep and deleted in periodic clean-ups. Want yours gone sooner? Reply to your own submission or send a deletion request through the contact page and we'll remove it.

7. Access, correction & complaints

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about our handling of it — use the contact page. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with an updated date. Material changes get a note on the home page.
